World singing champion Jed Madela feels nothing but excitement about the launch of his debut album titled “All Original” released by his new recording label Star Records.

Jed Madela's 'ALL ORIGINAL' album

“It’s my first full project with Star Records and it is also my first all-original album,” said Jed. “We have put so much work into it that the very moment I heard the final tracks, I am already looking forward to sharing it with everyone who has been supporting my music.”

“All Original” features songs, which according to Jed, are new and far from usual. “Everything sounds different and the songs express different feelings. Actually, each one can be a potential single on its own,” said Jed, who is set to celebrate later this year his 10th anniversary in the music industry. “Of course, the signature ‘high note ballads’ wil be in the album but there are tracks that will make the listeners wonder if it is really me singing.”

True to its title, Jed’s first albumunder Star Records features 10 original tracks including his carrier single ‘Ikaw Na,’ ‘Wish,’ ‘When Love Once Was Beautiful,’ ‘Dito Lang,’ ‘Ipinapangako Ko,’ ‘Sa Habang Buhay,’ ‘Dalangin Ko,’ ‘Will Forever,’ ‘Home To You,’ and Jed’s very own composition titled ‘Tanging ikaw.’ The album also contains bonus mixes of ‘Wish’ and ‘Dito Lang.’

Apart from his latest album, the first Filipino champion of the prestigious World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) shares another milestone to his career as he was recently hailed as the first Filipino to be inducted into the Performing Arts Hall of Fame in Hollywood. Jed is the first Grand Champion Performer of the World to be awarded the treasured Achievement Award and inducted into the elite Performing Arts Hall of Fame that will have a live worldwide webcast on July 19.

‘Himig Handog’ Champ Joven Tan, Overwhelmed with Song’s Success

Winning “Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs” composer Joven Tan couldn’t believe that he won the finals night of the prestigious songwriting competition. Aiza Seguerra, who interpreted his song “Ano’ng Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa”, shared the same sentiments.

Joven Tan - Ano'ng Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa

“Everyone who got into the top 12 deserves to win but I never imagined it would be me,” said Joven of Malabon City. “When they first called my name, it felt surreal. Reality hit me when I saw my loved ones jumping in excitement and the judges smiling at me.”
Aiza, on the other hand, never doubted the song. “Joven’s composition is really beautiful, there’s no doubt about that. I just didn’t expect we would win because I was unsure of my interpretation,” the acoustic singer said.

“Ano’ng Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa” can already be heard playing in ABS-CBN’s newest teleserye “Apoy Sa Dagat”. Joven expressed his gratitude to ABS-CBN and Star Records, “Thank you so much to the judges, ABS-CBN, and Star Records for this massive opportunity!” Apart from his composition being featured in a show, Joven also brought home a cash prize amounting to a million pesos.

Meanwhile, Juris, who interpreted Soc Villanueva’s song “Hanggang Wakas” said she felt like she would be the one to blame if the song didn’t get any awards. “The song’s a masterpiece. I thought if it didn’t get any award, it would be my fault. Good thing it placed second!” Like all the other composers, Soc didn’t expect he’ll win an award. “All I wanted was for people to listen to my song. I was content with just that.”

Marion Aunor, the 20-year-old composer and interpreter of her own song “If You Ever Change Your Mind” which placed third thanked ABS-CBN and Star Records. “I’m very grateful and I can definitely count this as one of my most life-changing experiences. I would have been thankful whether or not I won. Being part of the Top 12 is accomplishment enough,” she said.

Domingo Rosco, composer of the fourth placer “Scared to Death” felt like he’s already a winner, having been given the opportunity to compete while Bojam de Belen who wrote “Kahit Na” was much honored to be included in the top five. “Scared to Death” was interpreted by “The X Factor Philippines” grand winner KZ Tandingan who felt blessed that out of the many singers in the industry, she was chosen. “Kahit Na”, on the other hand, was interpreted by Toni Gonzaga who said that being recognized as one of the top five is already a big thing.

Other composers and interpreters who competed in this year’s “Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs” are the following: Jungee Marcelo’s “Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat” interpreted by Daniel Padilla; Jude Thaddeus Gitamondoc’s “This Song’s For You” interpreted by Erik Santos; Ma. Fe Mechenette Tianga, Melvin Huwervana, and Joel Jabot Jr’s “Alaala” interpreted by Yeng Constantino; Agatha Obar Morallos’ “One Day” interpreted by Angeline Quinto; Jeffrey Cifra’s “Pwede Bang Ako Na Lang Ulit” interpreted by Bugoy Drilon; Arman Alferez’ “Sanay Magbalik” interpreted by Jovit Baldivino; and Wynn Andrada’s “Tamang Panahon” which he sung himself.

All the 12 songs are compiled in the “Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs” CD, which is now available on all record bars nationwide for only P250 and can also be downloaded on iTunes. The third place winner of “Himig Handog P-POP Love Songs 2013″ is positive that she can carve her own niche in the music industry, especially with the new sound and unique flavor that she highlights in her much awaited self-titled debut album released under Star Records.

“It’s really tough to rise above the competition because so many other talented artists come out with their great albums that are launched almost at the same time. However, I still think that there is always room for new music as people are always on the lookout for something different and innovative,” said Marion whose musical influences include Jason Mraz and Sara Bareilles.

“Unlike most local artists, I like to write my songs and put my own spin on revivals. So I’m very grateful that I was given the freedom to include my original compositions in my album and I was given a say in terms of the cover songs’ arrangement,” she said. “I usually write songs based on personal experiences to which many can surely relate. In my album, there is a song for everyone, no matter what age and hopefully, no matter what nationality.”

Featured in Marion’s self-titled debut album are 12 tracks including carrier singles, ‘Fallen’ and ‘Do Do Do’ which are both composed by the 21-year-old singer-songwriter.

Also featured are two more of Marion’s original compositions namely, ‘I Don’t Know (If I Should Stay or I Should Go)’ and her “Himig Handog” winning entry ‘If You Ever Change Your Mind.’ She co-wrote ‘Sex On Legs’ with Patricia Sanico, while her manager and album producer Vehnee Saturno was her co-composer in the song ‘Take A Chance.’ Vehnee’s composition, ‘Magmamahal Sa’yo,’ is likewise included in the album.

Completing the tracklist are Marion’s creative revivals of the worldwide hit song ‘Just Give Me A Reason’ that was originally performed by Pink and Nate Reuss, timeless international hits ‘Don’t Give Up On Us’ and ‘The First Time I Loved Forever,’ and OPM classic ballad ‘Someone’s Always Saying Goodbye.’

Due to insistent public demand, Star Records has launched the highly anticipated first-ever album of primetime TV’s ‘Next Ultimate Leading Man’ and this generation’s ‘Dougie King’ Enrique Gil.

Enrique Gil releases debut album 'King of the GIL'_2

Enrique’s debut album under Star Records is titled ‘King of the GIL,’ which according to the singer-actor, was a result of his habit of tirelessly trying out something new.

“After dancing and acting, a lot of people encouraged me to try singing. And then I was formally offered to do an album. I just said, ‘Sure, let’s try it,” narrated Enrique. “The moment I heard the songs that I recorded, I felt that it was a dream that unexpectedly came true.”

The “Muling Buksan Ang Puso” star further shared that he was hands-on in the production of his debut CD with the support of Fil Music’s hit hiphop album producer Thyro and hiphop artist Paw Chavez. “I wanted to create my own flavor and share my side of music that I haven’t heard yet from current recording artists. The album is more of house, hiphop, upbeat,” he said. “My album is actually just like me; it will get and keep you dancing. A listener will feel the urge to get up and dance when listening to any track.”

“My album can surely be enjoyed by all generations. My song ‘Ikaw Lamang’ is perfect for primetime TV viewers because it sounds like a teleserye theme song. ‘Katawan-Legs’ medley is for the laid back; ‘Miss Miss’ is for the hot chicks; while ‘So Fly’ and ‘Rockin’ Them Jeans’ is a treat to those who love hiphop music,” explained Enrique, whose musical influences are Chris Brown and Billy Crawford.

Meanwhile, when asked if he is ready to be compared once again with former “Princess And I” co-star and fellow Star Records artist Daniel Padilla, Enrique said ‘yes.’

“I’m used to it. I’ve been compared with DJ (Daniel’s nickname) as an actor since we started ‘Princess and I.’ But I think both of us are unique as recording artists. DJ’s genre is more of rock-alternative, while my album carries upbeat and dance tracks,” said Enrique, who dreams of collaborating with Bamboo, Yeng Constantino, and his friends from Flip Music like Ron Henley and Abra.

Under the production of Star Records, featured in ‘King of the GIL’ are seven tracks including his carrier single na ‘Oha (Kaya mo ba ‘to?),’ ‘Miss Miss,’ ‘Ikaw Lamang,’ ‘So Fly,’ ‘Katawan-Legs’ medley, ‘Tayo’y Magsayawan-Rock Baby Rock’ medley, and ‘Rockin’ Them Jeans’ featuring Tippy Dos Santos.

Enrique’s ‘King of the GIL’ album is now available on record bars nationwide for only P199. The tracks can also be downloaded via iTunes, Amazon.com and MyMusicStore.com.ph.

Richard Yap_POSTER

“It is a dream-come-true because I’ve always wanted to sing since I was a kid,” said the other half of the ‘Ser Chief-Maya’ (Jodi Sta. Maria) love team. “I am thankful to our teleserye because through our official soundtrack, people discovered that I can sing.”

The actor shared that his self-titled debut album is just like their TV series–a feel-good, easy listening collection of tracks composed of nine revivals that were all chosen by ‘Ser Chief’ himself. The carrier single of the album is “Don’t Know What To Do, Don’t Know What To Say.”

Richard, who grew up listening to the music of Queen, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers, Hall and Oates, Phil Collins, and Mike Francis, feels no pressure getting compared with other talented singers in the country.

“I don’t think there’s a need to compare because we have different musical choices and different target audiences,” he explained.

“When I was growing up I was ‘accompanied’ in my sleep up to my waking hour by Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Regine Velasquez and Lea Salonga,” she said. “Now, with the turn of events in my life, I listen more and more to Pink, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, among others.”

“My new CD marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life. It’s about being free, celebrating my own identity without inhibitions, and becoming strong despite my own limitations,” the world-class singer said. “It’s my take on becoming true to myself to be able to deliver a more honest and heartfelt music to the people who believe in me and my craft. Plus I owe it to God who also loves lesbians like me.”

“I believe that ‘Chapter 10′ is a proof that talent goes beyond gender orientation. People love me for my voice. So, with a humble heart, I wish to give them every reason to love me even more with this album,” said Charice about her 10-track album. “I gave my best to this. I even spent sleepless nights at the studio perfecting some songs. This is the first album I will release after coming out. So I really chose to treat the listeners to something that is really a work of art.”

When asked what is so special about the number 10, Charice shared, “Aside from the fact that the album contains 10 songs, ten is close to my heart as it is the birthday of my mom and myself, and my anniversary with Alyssa (Quijano).”

Featured in “Chapter 10″ are nine uniquely creative revivals of ‘Titanium’, ‘How Could an Angel Break My Heart’, ‘Anything For You’, ‘Everything I Do, I Do It For You’, ‘Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough’, ‘Do You Know Where You’re Going To?’, ‘The One That Got Away’, ‘Makita Kang Muli’ and ‘Yakap;’ and one original composition co-written by Charice titled “Unexpected Love,” which she dedicates to her girlfriend.

Charice’s “Chapter 10” album is now available at all records bars nationwide and worldwide for only P299. The tracks can also be downloaded via iTunes, Amazon.com and MyMusicStore.com.ph.
